Covid, a year in greetings cards
I'll not lie, I struggled in the time of the pandemic. Like everyone I went from a full enough work calendar to absolutely months stretching out with nothing to do. That may sound like heaven to some, but when you are self-employed, non furloughed and not earning it was pretty scary.
But enough doom and gloom, I survived it and made use of the downtime to create a Christmas card for 2020 with a humorous take on the Covid sphere that was currently dominating our vision.
Of course it went on beyond the start of 2021 and so I did Spring, Summer and another Christmas version too. Each card had a quote inside that was relevant to the times we were in. I truly hope I never have to repeat the exercise!

"It is a fair, even-handed, noble adjustment of things, that while there is infection in disease and sorrow, there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good-humour."
‘A Christmas Carol’ - Charles Dickens

“Spring won’t let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again.”
Gustav Mahler

“Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘it will be happier’”
Alfred Lord Tennyson
